Hutchinson YMCA adds new directors, launches summer promotions
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson YMCA has announced two new leadership appointments while launching summer membership promotions and community events designed to strengthen local connections.
The fitness center recently welcomed Cord Harrington as its new Aquatics Director and EJ Bennett Jr. as Gymnastics Director, according to social media posts from the organization.
Harrington brings extensive experience from the aquatics industry, having most recently served as Head Swim Coach at Sterling College, where he was also a member of the college's swim team. Bennett contributes expertise in gymnastics, tumbling and cheerleading as a former college cheerleader.
"We are excited to announce that Cord Harrington has accepted the role of Aquatics Director and EJ Bennett Jr. is our new Gymnastics Director," the YMCA stated in welcoming the new staff members to its leadership team.
The organization is currently waiving joiner fees through July 18 as part of a summer membership drive. New members can sign up online or in person at the front desk using promotional code SUNNY75.
The YMCA has also scheduled its FAMFEST family event for Saturday, July 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North YMCA location. This month's theme centers around "The Cookout," featuring family game activities and community gathering opportunities.
Beyond local programming, the Hutchinson YMCA has joined broader relief efforts for Texas flood victims. The organization promoted donations to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to support emergency response efforts in Central Texas communities affected by recent flooding.
The Greater Wichita YMCA, which operates the Hutchinson location, describes its mission as helping the community make healthy connections through fitness, education, social and recreational activities for all ages, abilities and interests.
