Hutchinson Regional Medical Center honors emergency, surgery teams
Staff members recognized with Mission Moment Award for patient care
The Emergency Department and Surgery teams at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center have received a Mission Moment Award after a patient praised staff for their care during an unexpected hospital visit.
Joel Hernandez, an emergency department charge nurse, and Amber Hallbauer, perianesthesia nurse manager, accepted the award on behalf of their respective departments. The recognition also extends to staff from admissions, imaging, anesthesia and other units who contributed to the patient's care.
The award was prompted by a patient's note praising staff for thoroughly explaining procedures, answering questions with patience and offering reassurance during a stressful time. The patient specifically highlighted the teams' kindness, professionalism and collaborative effort to provide exceptional care.
