Hutchinson Monarchs Lead NBC World Series All-Tournament Selections

WICHITA, Kan. — Fresh off their championship victory, the Hutchinson Monarchs claimed four spots on the National Baseball Congress World Series All-Tournament team, the organization announced Wednesday.
The Monarchs dominated the tournament selection process after routing the Lonestar Kraken 21-4 in Saturday's championship game at Riverfront Stadium. The victory marked Hutchinson's second NBC title in three years.
Pitcher Bradyn McClure, shortstop Drew Bugner and outfielders Jake Gutierrez and Jaden Gustafson earned All-Tournament recognition for their performances during the 91st edition of the summer baseball showcase. Head coach Casey Lippoldt received Manager of the Tournament honors.
"This group of players competed at an extremely high level throughout the entire tournament," Lippoldt said after the championship game. "They deserved this recognition."
The Monarchs outscored opponents by substantial margins during the 10-day competition, culminating in their 17-run victory over Lonestar in the finals. Hutchinson's balanced attack featured contributions from both veterans and newcomers to the program.
McClure anchored a deep pitching rotation that held opponents to fewer than six runs per game during tournament play. Bugner provided steady defense at shortstop while contributing key hits in clutch situations.
The outfield duo of Gutierrez and Gustafson combined for 12 RBIs during the tournament, including five runs batted in during the championship game blowout.
Other players earning All-Tournament recognition included pitchers Simon Lunsford and Julio Ramos of the Hays Larks, along with catcher Christian Olea of the Alaska Goldpanners.
The Monarchs previously captured the NBC World Series championship in 2022 and have established themselves as one of the premier summer collegiate baseball programs in the country.
Hutchinson finished the tournament with a 6-1 record and outscored opponents 67-31 during their title run. The team's 21-run performance in the championship game tied a tournament record for most runs scored in a finals appearance.
The NBC World Series, held annually in Wichita since 1935, features top amateur and semi-professional teams from across the United States.
