Hutchinson Foundation to Host Leadership Coaching Workshop for Nonprofits

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Community Foundation will host a free professional development workshop focused on leadership coaching for nonprofit organizations on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The workshop, titled "Unlocking Potential: The Value of Leadership Coaching for Nonprofits," will be led by Joyce McEwen Crane, a Professional Certified Coach and director of learning and development at the Kansas Leadership Center.
The two-hour session aims to provide nonprofit staff, board members and volunteers with tools to enhance leadership skills and organizational effectiveness through peer learning and workshops with regional leaders.
"In the fast-paced and demanding world of nonprofit leadership, having a trusted thought partner can be transformative," organizers said in the event description.
Participants will learn core principles of coaching, including how to act as a supportive partnership focused on facilitating growth and development. The workshop will cover the distinction between coaching, consulting and mentoring, and help attendees identify ideal candidates for coaching within their organizations.
The session will also explore how leadership coaching can create dedicated time and space for strategic thinking, problem-solving and personal development while enhancing leadership skills and team dynamics.
Crane serves dual roles at the Kansas Leadership Center as both director of learning and development and leadership coach. She earned a Professional Certified Coach credential from the International Coach Federation and holds additional credentials from the Institute for Life Coach Training and the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy.
The workshop will include a live coaching demonstration, giving participants hands-on exposure to the coaching experience. Lunch will be provided.
Advanced registration is required by Sept. 2, as space is limited to 30 participants. The foundation encourages no more than two people from each organization to attend to allow for shared learning across different groups.
