Hutchinson firefighters extinguish garage blaze on Avenue C

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to a garage fire in the 700 block of Avenue C on Sunday afternoon.
Crews were dispatched to the scene at 3:40 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the garage upon arrival. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack after discovering flames when they opened the walk-through garage door.
The fire was quickly brought under control. Crews remained on scene to investigate the cause and clean up tools.
No information was released about injuries or the extent of damage to the structure.
The fire department thanked Reno County EMS, the Hutchinson Police Department and the City of Hutchinson's public works department for their assistance
