Hutchinson firefighters extinguish garage blaze

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Firefighters quickly contained a garage fire Wednesday, Nov. 5, evening after a resident reported smelling smoke in the area.
The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to the call at 6:44 p.m. and found smoke coming from the eaves of a garage, according to Battalion Chief Justin Holzrichter.

Crews launched an aggressive fire attack and brought the blaze under control, Holzrichter said. Firefighters remained on scene to overhaul the structure and collect equipment.
No injuries were reported.
The fire department was assisted by Reno County EMS, Hutchinson Police Department and the city's public works department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
