Hutchinson Fire Department Extinguishes Garage Blaze on West 13th Street

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson firefighters quickly controlled a detached garage fire in the 600 block of West 13th Street this morning, preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby structures.

The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to an emergency call regarding the fire Sunday morning. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames visibly venting through the roof of the detached garage.

"The dedicated crew executed an offensive attack, rapidly gaining control of the blaze and containing it in a remarkably short period," Battalion Chief Nick White said in a statement.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The garage was unoccupied at the time of the fire, according to the fire department.

The fire department credited multiple agencies for their assistance during the emergency response, including Hutchinson-Reno County Emergency Communications, Reno County EMS, Kansas Gas, Evergy and the Hutchinson Police Department.

"The collaboration among these agencies exemplifies our community's commitment to safety and rapid response," White said.
