Hutchinson Community College names student Distinguished Dragon of Excellence
The zoo science student is recognized for top academic marks and campus involvement
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Community College has named Hutch-native and zoo science student Katie Canup as a Distinguished Dragon of Excellence in recognition of her standout academic achievements.
Canup, an entomology enthusiast and active member of the campus D&D Club, regularly earned spots on both the President's and Vice President's honor rolls during her college career. Her nominator praised her "quiet resolve and clear-thinking mind," noting that Canup achieved the highest grade in their fall 2024 class.
