Hutchinson Community College hosts Kansas Lions Band Camp
More than 130 high school musicians to perform weekend concerts
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — More than 130 high school musicians from across the state are spending the week at Hutchinson Community College for the Kansas Lions Band Camp, culminating in a pair of weekend performances open to the public.
The musicians are receiving advanced musical training from HutchCC Fine Arts Department staff and participating in intensive small-group rehearsals and full-ensemble sessions while staying on campus.
Residents are invited to attend the free final performances. Chamber ensembles and jazz band will perform at 7:45 p.m. Friday at the Stringer Fine Arts Center. A large symphonic band concert will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
