HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson City Manager Enrico Villegas has been recognized as one of the "Top 10 City Managers for 2025" by Government Business Review, a national honor highlighting his leadership in municipal management and community development.

The recognition follows nominations from readers and a detailed evaluation by the magazine's editorial team, which sought leaders making significant contributions to government leadership, public administration and community development.

Villegas emphasized that the award reflects the collaborative efforts of the entire Hutchinson team. "This is a shared achievement," he said. "I appreciate the council's tireless support for me and our shared vision for Hutchinson. Their trust and commitment make it possible for us to move forward together as one team."

The city hired Villegas following a selection process that involved multiple candidates. He receives an annual salary of $162,500 and received a one-time relocation payment of $15,000.

Since taking office, Villegas has focused on community engagement and addressing local challenges. He has led initiatives to address Hutchinson's housing crisis, including the city's purchase of land for residential development, with plans to have homes built in 2025.

During his appointment, Villegas expressed enthusiasm for the position, saying, "My family and I are also very excited and eager to start the next chapter of our lives here in Hutch."
