HUTCHINSON — The Hutchinson City Council will consider levying a 2% sales tax for a new Landmark Community Improvement District to rehabilitate the former Stamey Hotel into a mixed-use development during its 5:30 p.m. meeting June 2 at City Hall. Mayor Scott Meggers and the council also will review bids for a downtown tree removal project backed by a nearly $93,000 federal Inflation Reduction Act grant and discuss a new policy on ceremonial proclamations. Residents can stream the public meeting, which will be followed by a closed executive session, live on the city's YouTube and Facebook channels.
