Commission approves new rate for mixed load solid waste

HURON, S.D. - The city commission voted unanimously to approve a new rate for solid waste disposal during its meeting. As part of Resolution 2025-11, the commission established a "mixed load rate" of $200 per ton. The rate addition was described as a necessary update that had been missed in previous documentation.


City implements administrative fee for past-due bills

Commission approves annexation of Stony Run Park

HURON, S.D. - The City Commission voted unanimously to approve Resolution 2025-10, authorizing the annexation of Tract 1 of Stony Run Park. Planning Director Barry Cranston presented the item, explaining that bringing the parcel into city limits places the property under municipal control following its purchase by the Parks and Recreation Department. Cranston noted that the annexation is a procedural step and does not indicate immediate development plans for the area.
