HURON, S.D. - SoDak Spurs Soccer Club, a Brookings-based organization, is slated to take over operations from the local soccer association for the 2026 season. Parks and Recreation Director Chad Schroeder presented a facility use agreement for the Pepsi Soccer Complex during the meeting, noting the local association sought to hand off the program to ensure its long-term sustainability. The city commission unanimously authorized the park board president to sign the agreement, pending a final signature by the new club.

Commission approves alcohol license for downtown business
HURON, S.D. - The city commission unanimously approved a retail on- and off-sale wine and cider alcoholic beverage license for 1904 Remnant LLC at 266 Dakota Ave. S. Finance Director Paullyn Carey reported that fire and building officials successfully completed their inspections, clearing the business to officially open. The public hearing for the new license drew no outside comments or objections.
Local restaurant granted special license for summer kickoff
HURON, S.D. - A special on-sale alcoholic beverage license was approved for Medi's Juice Box to host an upcoming summer kickoff event. The event is scheduled for May 30 from noon until midnight at 1502 Dakota Ave. S. The measure passed unanimously without debate as part of the city commission's consent agenda.
