Hospital Partners with Boys & Girls Club for Free Student Physicals

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System will provide free sports physicals for student-athletes Aug. 1 at Hutchinson High School as part of a community partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Hutchinson.
The event runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and targets students in grades 7-12 participating in fall sports. The physicals are required for students to participate in athletics through USD 308.
"Thank you Hutch Regional & Boys & Girls Club of Hutchinson for partnering with us to make this community event possible," organizers posted on social media.
The day begins at 11:30 a.m. with a presentation by the Steph Curry Foundation focusing on leadership and positive team dynamics. Free pizza and drinks will be served from 12:30 to 1 p.m. before the physical examinations begin.
Parents must complete the required portion of physical forms in advance if they will not be present during the examination, according to event organizers.
The collaboration represents part of Hutchinson Regional's community outreach efforts.
Student-athletes typically need current physical examinations on file with their schools before participating in organized sports. The free clinic eliminates potential financial barriers that might prevent students from obtaining required medical clearances.
The Boys & Girls Club of Hutchinson serves as a co-sponsor for the event, which takes place during the final weeks of summer before fall sports seasons begin.
Families interested in the free physicals can find additional information through Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System's website at hutchregional.com or by calling (620) 665-2000.
The event reflects growing partnerships between healthcare providers and youth organizations to address community health needs and remove obstacles to student participation in athletics.
