Families looking for holiday activities this Saturday will find plenty of festive options in downtown McPherson, with events spanning from morning through afternoon at two popular venues.

The McPherson Public Library, located at 214 W. Marlin Street, will host Winter Wonderland from 9 a.m. to noon. The free, three-hour event requires no registration and welcomes all ages.

Santa Claus will be available for visits from 9:30 to 11 a.m., giving children the perfect opportunity to share their wish lists before Christmas. The event will also feature crafts for both adults and children, family photo opportunities, games, and snacks.

Later in the afternoon, the McPherson Opera House at 219 S. Main Street will screen "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" at 3 p.m. The free showing is part of a holiday promotion brought to the community by the McPherson Chamber of Commerce, McPherson Main Street, and member sponsors.

Concessions will be available for purchase during the screening.

The free movie is made possible through sponsorship from McPherson area Free Methodist churches, including McPherson Free Methodist Church, Revolution Free Methodist Church, and St. Barnabas. The event is also sponsored in part by a marketing grant from the McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Both events are open to the public and offer opportunities for families to celebrate the season together while enjoying downtown McPherson's holiday atmosphere.
