Historic Bethany Lutheran Church Receives Major Federal Grant

LINDSBORG, Kan. — Bethany Lutheran Church has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the National Fund for Sacred Places to restore its historic sanctuary, which has served the community since 1869. The church was among 30 congregations nationwide to receive funding from the $8.7 million grant program, which supports major preservation projects at historically significant houses of worship. The restoration project will include rebuilding a wall, replacing aging wooden beams with steel supports, installing tie rods and other structural improvements to ensure the sanctuary's continued stability for future generations.
