Halloween Events Bring Treats, Tunes and Trunk-or-Treating to Area Communities

Several south-central Kansas communities are offering Halloween festivities this week, from raffle prizes to karaoke nights and trick-or-treating events.

Suzy's Bakery & Coffee Shop in Caldwell is hosting a "Spooky Sweet Raffle" with drawings scheduled for Halloween on Thursday. Tickets are available for $5 each or three for $2 each at the bakery.

Prize winners will take home free coffee for a month, a $25 gift card, a birthday box containing a cake and 24 cupcakes, or the chance to create and name a custom drink that will appear on the menu for a month.

Sugar Sisters in Caldwell will host a karaoke night Saturday starting at 7 p.m. at 20 S. Main St. The bar opens at 6 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. DJ Potts will provide entertainment for the evening.

Wellington will hold its annual trick-or-treat street event Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. on Osage Street between First and Fourth avenues. The street will be closed to motor vehicle traffic, with access limited to pedestrians only.

The event will feature Halloween hot dogs and trunk-or-treat activities, allowing children to collect candy from decorated vehicle trunks along the closed street.
