Governor Kelly Names 14 to State Boards and Committees

TOPEKA, Kan. — Governor Laura Kelly announced Friday the appointment of 14 individuals to various state boards, committees and advisory groups, including key positions overseeing higher education and emergency services.

The appointments include two members to the Kansas Board of Regents, which governs six state universities and coordinates 19 community colleges. Peter Johnston of Salina and Matt Crocker of Manhattan will join the nine-member body. Three appointments were made to the Wichita State University Board of Trustees, including reappointments of Laurie Labarca and Aaron Bastian, both of Wichita, along with new member John Frederick of Wichita.

Additional appointments include Jake Power of Norwich to the Emergency Medical Services Board and Phil Hayes of Haysville and Elizabeth Maisberger-Clark of Carbondale, both reappointments, to the Workers Compensation and Employment Services Board Nominating Committee. Five individuals were named to the Kansas Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and Nichole Hines of Leawood was appointed to the Board of Cosmetology.
