GoFundMe launched to help 6 puppies abandoned at Walmart
The week-old dogs were found in a pink bag behind a tire and need around-the-clock bottle feeding
MCPHERSON, Kan. — A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help care for six 1-week-old puppies who were abandoned in a pink bag behind a parked vehicle's tire at a Walmart parking lot Thursday afternoon.
McPherson animal control and police officers safely recovered the dogs at 4:30 p.m., and the puppies are now doing well while being bottle-fed by shelter workers, police and jail staff.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact the McPherson Police Department, the McPherson Animal Shelter or McPherson County Crimestoppers.
To help support the care of these puppies at the McPherson Animal Shelter, citizen journal has set up an online fundraiser. One hundred percent of funds will go directly to these puppies.
UPDATE
The fundraiser reached roughly half of its initial $100 goal within 16 minutes of launching early Saturday, prompting organizers to raise the target to $400.

Strong response from readers pushed the fundraiser past $350 within the first eight hours, and organizers have raised the goal again to $1000.
