Girls Varsity Soccer Tops Rose Hill in OT

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson girls varsity soccer team defeated Rose Hill 2-1 in overtime Thursday at McPherson High School, getting goals from Allison Randa and Caysen Blake to knock off one of Class 4A's top teams. Randa broke the scoreless tie in the second half off an assist from Becca Lulloff before Blake sealed the win in the first overtime period on a feed from Addison Shaft, while goalkeeper Ellie Herrera made five saves and the back line turned in what coach Adrian called their best performance of the season.

"This is one of those games where it's impossible to list just one or two players that made a difference," Adrian said. "Every player on the field stepped up at some time to make a key play. It was a team effort." McPherson finished with eight shots on goal. In JV action, McPherson tied Rose Hill 1-1 on a goal by McKenna Paul assisted by Shanti Abud.
