MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson girls varsity soccer team defeated Salina South 1-0 in the third-place game of the McPherson Invitational, getting a second-half goal from Addison Shaft off an assist by Hannah Wilgers.
McPherson controlled possession with 13 shots on goal, while goalkeeper Ellie Herrera made six saves to preserve the shutout.
