Girls Swim Takes 7th at Wichita Heights
Wiens and Schrag lead Bullpups in competitive 21-team invitational.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson girls varsity swim team placed seventh with 117 points at the Wichita Heights Invitational on Thursday, finishing ahead of 14 other teams in the 21-school field won by Andover with 379 points. Adyson Wiens paced the Bullpups with a fifth-place finish in the 50 freestyle (27.69) and sixth in the 100 freestyle (1:00.41), while Ella Schrag took sixth in the 100 butterfly (1:10.51) and 14th in the 200 individual medley (2:50.47) — both emerging as state considerations.
The relay team of Wiens, Zoe Busenitz, Kaylee Frank and Schrag added a seventh-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay at 1:58.37. McPherson returns to the pool April 9 at Salina.
