Gift celebrates completion of new 55,000-square-foot Campus Commons building
Wichita Construction Firm Donates $125,000 to McPherson College

MCPHERSON, KS — Dondlinger Construction of Wichita presented McPherson College with a $125,000 gift to support student activities and programs during a July 24 ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly completed Campus Commons. The Wichita-based firm, which served as general contractor for the 55,000-square-foot student services hub, also engineered and installed a custom rigging system that now suspends two classic automobiles—a 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona and a 1956 Austin Healey 100M Le Mans Roadster—from the building's three-story glass atrium.
The Campus Commons represents a major milestone in McPherson College's expansion efforts, which have increased campus size by 20% since 2022. The new facility houses expanded dining and student gathering spaces, a center for career and experiential learning, and a welcome center for prospective students. The suspended automobiles serve as a fitting centerpiece for the college, which remains the only institution in the United States offering a four-year degree in automotive restoration.
