No injuries reported in Friday afternoon blaze that required multiple fire units to extinguish.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — A two-car detached garage in the 800 block of North Grimes Street was heavily damaged by fire Friday afternoon after passersby noticed smoke and alerted authorities at 2:15 p.m. The McPherson Fire Department responded with multiple engines and a command vehicle, finding the garage's interior fully engulfed in flames upon arrival. Fire crews successfully contained the blaze to the garage structure, its contents, and a vehicle parked in front, with no injuries reported. Fire Chief Chad Mayberry said investigators identified an area of origin but could not determine the exact ignition sequence, adding that no foul play is suspected.
