MCPHERSON, Kan. — A 43-year-old Galva woman was killed and two drivers were hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision on the Fourth of July in rural McPherson County. The crash occurred around 6:28 p.m. in the 900 block of 14th Avenue, between Dakota and Eisenhower roads. Investigators said a southbound silver sedan slowed to make a left turn into a private driveway when it was struck by a northbound gray SUV.

Julie Goucher, who was riding in the front passenger seat of the sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan and the sole occupant of the SUV were transported to McPherson Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
