Galva Community Fund Launches with $252,000 Endowment

The McPherson County Community Foundation has established the Galva Community Fund with an initial endowment of $252,000, following a successful Match Week campaign that raised $52,013.17 through community donations and anonymous matching contributions. The fund, made possible through support from the Baldwin and Warren Families, becomes the sixth community-specific fund in McPherson County and is expected to provide approximately $12,000 annually for local grants supporting community projects and programs.

A five-member committee consisting of Jeff Collins, Fay Hoppes, Taryn Huff, Jake Struber, and Shane Williams will oversee grant applications and ensure funding addresses Galva's evolving needs. According to MCCF Director of Development Jim Ostlund, community funds have previously supported diverse initiatives including childcare expansion, youth activities, and park restoration projects. The Galva Community Fund will begin accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations and community groups in July 2026. Interested parties can contact the foundation at Info@McPhersonFoundation.org for more information about grant requirements.
