From the desk of Sen. Roger Marshall, M.D.

Fellow Kansan,
When the American people elected President Trump in November 2024, they gave him a mandate to eliminate wasteful spending and address our $37 trillion national debt.
This week, Senate and House Republicans delivered on this mandate and voted to pass the first rescissions package, cutting $9 billion in waste, fraud, and abuse. Nearly $8 billion of those cuts came from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which President Trump dismantled after uncovering that the agency was using taxpayer dollars to fund woke Democrat cities.
Your taxpayer dollars deserve careful stewardship and efficient use - this is another promise made, promise kept by President Trump.
There's still much more to do, and I will keep encouraging my Republican colleagues in the Senate to keep getting our financial house in order.
The Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement has brought experts from across the country to Capitol Hill for the first Make America Healthy Again roundtable. Our farmers and ranchers are the backbone of the MAHA movement. Without their support and voice, this effort will not succeed.
As a fifth-generation Kansas farm kid and an OBGYN for more than 25 years, I understand how important agriculture is and also how important nutritious food are for a mother during pregnancy, for our children as they grow, and for our seniors. This is where agriculture meets agriculture, and where we can foster healthy people and a healthier America.
In the coming weeks and months, I will be introducing legislation that will focus on what I see as the four pillars of MAHA regenerative agriculture, nutrient-dense food, meaningful mental health and addiction recovery care, and addressing the mental health epidemic in our youth and young adults.
Please know that my family and I take this responsibility seriously and are proud to represent all Kansans in the U.S. Senate.
Sincerely,
Senator Roger Marshall, M.D.
