LINDSBORG, Kan. — Crews and residents clearing extensive tree damage from a severe storm that brought 100 mph winds to central Kansas received much-needed relief Tuesday in the form of free bottled water. Lindsborg Police Chief Terry Reed and City Administrator Tanner Faust distributed the water, which was donated by local grocery store White's Foodliner to support those working in the grueling cleanup. Officials praised the business and community volunteers for their compassion and quick response after the devastating weather initially knocked out power to nearly 80 utility customers.
