Free community baby shower planned for May 20 in Hutchinson

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — New and expecting parents in Reno County are invited to a free community baby shower this month featuring health resources, giveaways and light refreshments.
The event, hosted by Bump to Baby of Reno County in partnership with Reno County Health Department and Parents as Teachers, is scheduled for May 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at 200 E. Sherman.
Organizers say attendance is free and open to all new and expecting parents. Children are welcome at the event, though no childcare will be provided on site.
Attendees will have access to community resource information, self-care and mental health connections, safe sleep instruction and breastfeeding resources, as well as smoking cessation information. A Spanish interpreter will be on site.
Safety-approved sleep environments will be provided to those in need while supplies last. The event will also feature giveaways and raffles.
The venue will operate on a come-and-go basis, with doors closing at 7 p.m.
