Free community baby shower connects new and expecting parents with local resources
Reno County event distributes 38 Pack and Plays, offering education and infant care support to dozens of families
HUTCHINSON — Dozens of new and expecting parents received essential child care resources and safe sleep equipment at the free Reno County Community Baby Shower on May 20, 2024. The event, held at 200 E. Sherman St., connected 44 mothers and 60 support persons with 27 participating agencies offering bilingual education on safe sleep techniques, breastfeeding and mental health. With the assistance of 57 volunteers and staff members, organizers distributed 38 safety-approved Pack and Plays to families in need, reinforcing the community's commitment to supporting local parents and infants.
