Former principal named interim superintendent for Moundridge public schools
Clark Wedel to lead USD 423 for two years following Rierson's resignation
MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. — Moundridge public schools will have a familiar leader this summer after the local school board appointed former high school principal Clark Wedel to a two-year term as interim superintendent. Wedel, an educator with more than 35 years of experience who previously spent seven years as superintendent of Haven USD 312, will assume the role July 1 following the June 30 resignation of current Superintendent Cody Rierson, who is leaving to lead McPherson USD 418. School board President Michael Beasley said the extended interim period allows the district to secure a trusted, experienced administrator rather than rushing the search for a permanent replacement.
