Fire Department to Sell Reserve Rescue Truck
1995 Freightliner sees little use after new heavy rescue vehicle arrives
MCPHERSON — The McPherson Fire Department will sell its 1995 Freightliner FL60 rescue truck through Purple Wave, Inc. after the City Commission approved the sale of the reserve vehicle that has been used only once in the past year. The truck was moved to backup status last year when the department received a new heavy rescue vehicle, and officials say the low usage and need for additional space prompted the decision to dispose of the aging equipment.
