Federal and state officials outline agricultural trade strategies at K-State
U.S. Rep. Tracey Mann (R-Kan.) discusses agricultural trade strategy at K-State on May 27.

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Federal officials met at Kansas State University on Wednesday to discuss agricultural trade strategies and supply chain initiatives. U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran and U.S. Rep. Tracey Mann, both Republicans, joined USDA Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Luke Lindberg to detail the state's agricultural trade outlook. Before continuing their regional tour to Abilene, the trio ceremonially signed bags of Kansas-grown wheat destined for the federal Food for Peace program.

During the press conference, Lindberg highlighted the economic impact of recent federal policies, stating that previous administration policies successfully reduced the agricultural trade deficit significantly. The newly outlined initiatives aim to shield Kansas farmers from the costs of global market volatility, ensuring local producers can maintain operations and fulfill vital international exports.
