Fawl/Clary, Sandbo/Malm, McKean/Curtright Win Member-Guest Golf Tournament
Local duo posts impressive 24-over-quota performance in two-day stableford competition

The team of Treg Fawl and Ben Clary won the Championship Flight at McPherson's annual Member-Guest Golf Tournament, finishing an impressive 24 points over their quota in the two-day team stableford competition. The duo edged out the brother team of Kelly and Keaton Sorenson, who posted a strong +23 performance. Kelly Blomberg and Colby Geren rounded out the top three at +20, followed by Chris Stucky and Jeremy Palenske at +19 in fourth place.
In the First Flight, Matt Sandbo and Brad Malm claimed victory with a +19 total, holding off Jason Buschbom and Brad Geren who finished at +9 for second place. Hunter Pearson and Nick Bray took third at +7, with Collin Duckworth and Jonathan Crandall placing fourth at +6. The Second Flight saw Kevin McKean and Doug Curtright take top honors at +10, narrowly defeating Bill Gately and Jeremy Jonas (+8) and Jim Griggs and Phil Frigon (+8), who tied for second place. Tony and Cody Fawl rounded out the flight with a fourth-place finish at +6. The tournament format, which pairs members with guests in a handicap-based stableford scoring system, tests teams' ability to exceed their established quotas over 36 holes of competition.
