Experience McPherson's Community Spirit at the State Fair
Local volunteers and creative displays make the McPherson booth a must-visit destination

When you're walking through the Pride of Kansas Building at the State Fair this year, make sure to stop by the McPherson booth – you'll be glad you did. What makes this booth stand out isn't just its eye-catching decorations or clever giveaways, but the genuine community spirit that brings it to life.
Joni and Katie with the Convention & Visitors Bureau do such a great job of setting up the always well-decorated McPherson booth, and put a lot of thought into unique giveaways and games to help people interact. Their attention to detail and creative approach ensures that visitors don't just walk by – they stop, engage, and leave with a positive impression of what McPherson has to offer.
But the real magic happens behind the scenes. Let's not forget the amount of work that goes into organizing about 120 volunteer hours during the course of the 10-day event. That's what makes the McPherson booth so unique. It's not just City employees, but various volunteers from organizations and businesses across the community putting our best foot forward.
This collaborative effort represents the best of small-town Kansas – neighbors helping neighbors, local businesses supporting their community, and everyone working together toward a common goal. When fair-goers interact with these volunteers, they're getting an authentic taste of McPherson's welcoming character.
So if you happen to be there this year, stop by and say hello at the Pride of Kansas Building. Someone from McPherson will be there all day, every day. Whether you're a longtime resident or just curious about what our community has to offer, you'll find friendly faces ready to share what makes McPherson special.
