Elyria Christian School Closes After Storm Damage
Students get unexpected day off as facility repairs begin.
MCPHERSON — Students at Elyria Christian School received an unexpected day off Thursday after their campus sustained significant damage during Wednesday night's severe thunderstorm, according to a school Facebook post. No injuries were reported in the incident, but the damage was extensive enough to warrant closing the facility. The school postponed Thursday's junior high soccer game, though other scheduled events including cross-country meets and junior high and high school volleyball matches will proceed as planned at alternate venues hosted by other schools.
