Eagles Fall to Top-Ranked Little River 53-18
ECS Shows Improvement Despite Lopsided Score Against State Power
The ECS Eagles faced one of the state's top teams Thursday night, falling 53-18 to Little River at Central Christian College. Despite the final score, the Eagles showed significant improvement from their earlier meeting in December, battling against the talented Redskins throughout the contest.
Joy Pyle led the Eagles with eight points and 10 rebounds, dominating the glass with three blocks in a strong all-around performance. Grace Prescott added six points on two three-pointers while dishing out five assists and recording five steals against Little River's tough defense. Amelia Moody contributed two points and three rebounds, while Haven Bower added two points and four rebounds.
The Eagles competed hard against a Little River team known for their exceptional defense, managing to get more shots up and relaxing as the game progressed. Coach Greg Fields noted his team's improvement in slowing down the high-powered Redskins offense compared to their first meeting. The Eagles will return to their home gym Monday when they host Central Christian Academy from Wichita.
