Eagles Fall to Athletic Berean Squad in Defensive Battle

The Elyria Christian Eagles struggled to find their offensive rhythm Thursday night, falling 41-22 to a talented Berean Academy team.

ECS found itself in an early hole, trailing 9-5 after the first quarter and 20-11 at halftime. Berean's athleticism proved difficult to contain, particularly on the boards where the Warriors grabbed 13 offensive rebounds and converted numerous second-chance opportunities. The Eagles tightened up their physicality in the second half but couldn't overcome the deficit.

Grace Prescott led the Eagles with 12 points, hitting two three-pointers and adding three assists and four steals while playing all 32 minutes. Head coach praised Prescott's leadership and toughness throughout the contest. Kami Noggle was a disruptive force on defense, recording three steals and two assists while playing with physicality that gave Berean problems. Amelia Moody and Abigail Stone each chipped in three points, while Joy Pyle contributed five rebounds and a block.

The Eagles will look to bounce back when they host Wakefield next Tuesday at Goessel.
