CVB Board to Consider ASD Grant Wednesday
The board will review $8,000 in funding requests for All Schools Day, ThriftFest, and baseball tournaments during its January 14 meeting.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Board is scheduled to vote on $8,000 in tourism grants during its meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 14, a session distinct from the regular City Commission meetings. The board, which includes City Administrator Austin Regier, will consider a $5,000 request for the annual All Schools Day celebration set for May 1-10, an increase from the $3,000 awarded in 2025, alongside funding proposals for the new ThriftFest in March and three high school baseball tournaments this summer. In addition to the grant allocations, the agenda includes the director’s report and financial updates, continuing the city's planning efforts amidst a broader leadership transition following the recent conclusion of Mayor Tom Brown’s historic 17-year tenure.
