Crews begin resurfacing McPherson Water Park's lazy river

The city said in a Facebook post Wednesday, Aug. 26, that the one- to two-week job to resurface the lazy river at the McPherson Water Park will leave the surface ready for next summer. It said the project is contracted to Ashton-Kate of Wamego, whose crews will prep, sand, seal and coat the surface. McPherson city commissioners approved a $56,400 contract in August for repairs to the feature, including fixing cracks.

"Years of use, sun and pool chemicals tend to take their toll on a surface, so regular maintenance is a must," the city said in the post.
