GIRARD, Kan. — The board of Crawford County commissioners unanimously approved the consent agenda at its Feb. 24 regular meeting in Girard, including approval of the Feb. 20 minutes. The vote opened the meeting's regular business and allowed the board to move into scheduled motions, departmental matters and public comment.


2. Board adopts resolution to vacate street in Ringo

GIRARD, Kan. — The commission opened and closed a public hearing on vacating a platted street in the Original Town of Ringo, then adopted Resolution 2026-007 closing and vacating a portion of Second Street in the town. The action was documented in both the agenda packet and the commissioners' journal.


3. Board advances Opolis alley-vacation process

GIRARD, Kan. — The commission approved publication of a notice of intent to vacate a platted alley in Opolis and scheduled a public hearing. The action moved the matter into the formal notice-and-hearing stage required before any final decision.


4. County approves multiple ARPA drawdown requests

GIRARD, Kan. — According to official county meeting agendas, commissioners signed off on several February 2026 American Rescue Plan Act drawdown requests, including applications from New Foundations, Sugar Creek, Point Forward, Adam Jones Law Firm, Turnkey LLC and Design Mechanical. The approvals were part of the board's routine financial actions during the business-from-a-previous-meeting portion of the session.


5. Commissioners authorize mowing bids

6. Commissioners approve funding for Heritage Hall Museum
