Cowley County Seeks Public Input for Courthouse Gallery Wall

WINFIELD, Kan. — Cowley County is asking residents to help shape a new gallery wall inside the Cowley County Courthouse by submitting photos and ideas for the growing display.

The gallery, titled "Cowley County: Scenes From Home," is described as a visual celebration of the landscapes, communities, traditions and everyday moments that make the county unique. Subject matter ranges from quiet gravel roads at sunrise to historic landmarks, local celebrations, working farms, small-town streets and the people who serve the community.

The collection was created using a visual style inspired by classic National Park Service and WPA-era travel posters. Warm textures, bold compositions and nostalgic tones are intended to invite viewers to see Cowley County with fresh appreciation, according to the county's website.

County officials are seeking submissions across a range of subjects, including historic photos, scenic landscapes, community events, rural life, local landmarks and images that capture the spirit of Cowley County.

The full display is on view at the Cowley County Courthouse, 311 E. 9th Ave., Winfield.
