Cowley County Livestock Association to Launch Agriculture Scholarships
COWLEY COUNTY, Kan. — The Cowley County Livestock Association will launch agriculture scholarships this spring following the success of its first annual gala.
The event's success has allowed the organization to move forward with awarding two $500 scholarships — one for a female recipient and one for a male recipient.
The scholarships are designed to support agriculture students pursuing any form of agricultural education, not just traditional college, according to the association. Eligible programs include trade school, certification programs, livestock training or other ag-related opportunities that will invest in the future of agriculture in the community.
The association is currently working on scholarship applications and will have details available soon.
"This is a huge step forward, and it wouldn't be possible without the support of our sponsors, donors, and community members who believe in the next generation of agriculture," the association said in a Facebook post Friday.
"Ag kids — your future matters, and our community is behind you. Stay tuned for application details coming soon!"
Cowley County is located in south-central Kansas.
