Cowley College to Host American Red Cross Blood Drive

ARKANSAS CITY — Cowley College will partner with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Wright Room of the Brown Center.

The drive comes during a time of critical national need for blood donations, according to the college.

Donors will receive a $20 e-gift card as a thank-you for their contribution.

"Help save lives," the college said in its announcement, encouraging community members to reserve appointment slots.

Interested donors can schedule appointments by visiting the American Red Cross website at redcrossblood.org to search for donation opportunities and book a time slot.

The Red Cross has reported ongoing challenges maintaining adequate blood supply levels across the country, making community blood drives increasingly important for hospitals and medical facilities.

Blood donations are used for a variety of medical needs, including surgeries, cancer treatments, trauma care and treatments for chronic illnesses.

The Wright Room is located in Cowley College's Brown Center on the Arkansas City campus. Walk-in donors may be accommodated based on availability, though scheduling an appointment is recommended to reduce wait times.
