Cowley College Quiz Bowl Team Prepares for National Championship

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Cowley College Quiz Bowl team is preparing to compete at the NAQT Sectional Championship on Jan. 24 in Independence, Kansas, as the squad aims to advance to the national tournament in Chicago.

The team has been training extensively, working on everything from art history to poetry while developing strategies for the fast-paced buzzer competition format.

Quiz bowl is an academic competition in which teams of students answer questions across a wide range of subjects, including literature, science, history and fine arts. The National Academic Quiz Tournaments organization hosts sectional competitions that serve as qualifiers for the national championship.

A strong performance at sectionals could secure Cowley's spot at the national tournament, where the team would compete against top collegiate quiz bowl programs from across the country.
