Cowley College Criminal Justice Graduates Join Law Enforcement Ranks
ARKANSAS CITY — Five graduates of Cowley College's Criminal Justice program recently celebrated their transition from classroom to career as they joined law enforcement agencies across Kansas.
The graduates, led by Criminal Justice Director Frank Owens, gathered to honor Trooper Hunter Rush at his graduation from the Kansas Highway Patrol Academy. All five are now serving their communities in various law enforcement capacities.
Gavin Turner joined the Winfield Police Department, while Trooper Hunter Rush serves with the Kansas Highway Patrol in Cowley County. Owens continues his role as Director of Criminal Justice at Cowley College, and Trooper Alex Trujillo patrols with the Kansas Highway Patrol in Shawnee County. Mackenzie Rush joined the Winfield Police Department.
"From the classroom to the community, Cowley Tigers are making an impact every day," the college stated in announcing the graduates' achievements.
The group's celebration highlighted the program's success in preparing students for careers in law enforcement and public safety across the state.
