County Commission Delays Furniture Purchase for Building Project
Commissioners seek clarification on installation costs and sit-stand desk options before approving expenditure.

MCPHERSON — McPherson County Commissioners postponed action on furniture purchases for the County Building project during their August 4 meeting, requesting additional details before committing funds that are close to the allocated budget amount. The commissioners specifically asked for installation cost estimates, which were not included in the original proposal, and sought confirmation that new desks would include sit-stand options for employees as previously discussed. Staff indicated the proposed purchases would consume nearly all funds designated for furniture in the project budget, though exact dollar figures were not disclosed publicly. The commission will reconsider the matter once they receive more comprehensive information and ensure all employee workplace needs are properly addressed in the final proposal.
