Content Reuse Policy

Articles

Articles are the exclusive property of Loql LLC d/b/a citizen journal, and may not be republished without written permission. Please contact greg@citizenjournal.us for licensing use.

You may:

  • Link to our articles. (We appreciate it when you do!)
  • Use brief quotes of our articles for any purpose. If you plan to use them for a political or commercial purpose, you must give us a heads up before you do so. Email feedback@citizenjournal.us with the article and quote you plan to use.

Photos

Photos may be reused for personal use, as long as the re-user is paying for a subscription to cj+ at the time of use. Personal use includes, but is not limited to:

  • You want to print a photo out to put on grandma's/grandpa's/your refrigerator.
  • You want to keep a photo that we took at a high school football game.
  • You want to post a photo that we took on Facebook or Instagram for a non-commercial purpose.

Please do not:

  • Crop or edit photos to remove credit. Our photographers work hard!

For commercial and enterprise use of our photos, you must have a written agreement with Loql LLC d/b/a citizen journal. This includes any use for a business, non-profit entity, government entity, athletic department or political campaign. Please contact greg@citizenjournal.us for more information.

High School and College Athletes

For high school and college sports specifically, athletes may reuse our photos for social media posts as long as there is no advertising being sold alongside the photo. If you have to include #ad in the caption of the post, you can't use our photos. You or your parent must have an active cj+ subscription, and you must credit the photographer by name - they work hard to bring you the photos! (In this case, tagging the photographer is enough)

You may not:

  • Use our photos for recruiting profiles without a licensing agreement.
  • Use our photos in NIL content without a licensing agreement. We consider this a commercial purpose.
  • Crop or edit photos to remove credit.

Artificial Intelligence Use

You may not use any part of citizen journal's content to train a piece of artificial intelligence without written permission. Please contact greg@citizenjournal.us for licensing.

You may retrieve and link to our content in response to a user inquiry, provided the response links to the original article.
