The McPherson County Community Foundation has launched a Reverse Scholarship Program designed to attract trade professionals to relocate to McPherson County communities. The initiative, part of the foundation's McPherson County Professional Recruitment program known as McPherson County CPR, offers award recipients up to $750 in reimbursable funding that can be applied toward student loan repayment, professional training, or acquisition of work-related tools. The program aims to address workforce needs by encouraging college or trade-educated professionals to live and work in the county.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must plan to relocate to McPherson County and hold a trade or skills certification relevant to their current employment. While applicants are required to move to the county, employment within McPherson County is not mandatory, though preference will be given to those who work locally. Applicants must provide details about their current or future employment, certifications, career goals, and timeline for moving to the area.

"We understand that for some trades, where a person works may vary depending on the job," said MCCF CEO Michelle Huddle. "Our goal is to help these individuals and their families put down roots in McPherson County." The foundation will accept applications year-round and award scholarships based on available funding. Interested applicants can find the application on the MCCF website.
