City to Honor Outgoing Mayor Brown in Leadership Transition Ceremony

McPHERSON, Kan. — The city will host a come-and-go reception from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Community Building, 122 E. Marlin, to honor outgoing Mayor Thomas A. Brown and mark the city's transition in leadership as Jim Loving will be sworn in as mayor next week. Brown served 16 years as mayor, beginning in April 2009, overseeing major infrastructure improvements including a $33 million water treatment plant and helping attract significant industrial development to McPherson. The public reception requires no RSVP and will provide residents an opportunity to thank Brown for his service and welcome the new administration.
